For all the MASL visitors finding my blog, welcome! It is always enjoyable to present – though sometimes stressful – as I try to figure out what I want to say in my workshops. How to find my “stuff” is simple. If you look over in the right column, there is a link to Workshops & Presentations. I’m still updating and changing the presentation you saw at conference but you are welcome to cruise through some of the other links. Most of what I talked about at the Lake comes from earlier workshops.
I really believe that sharing with your peers – teachers, librarians, and students – makes for a richer experience in our school librarians. Did you catch that your students can be your peers? Yes, I’m always having students teach me new methods on how to make a online web 2.0 tool work. The latest has been AP Psychology and Advanced Composition students working on presentations using Prezi. I’ve played with Prezi but honestly it makes me “carsick”. However, I watched seniors put together wonderful poetry presentations using Prezi. One student was teaching 3 others how to use it. I wish that my camera had been handy – it was a perfect example of students teaching students. What a great job we school librarians have that we can teach and learn with our kids!
